I Go Back

Ever listen to a song that makes you think of another place and time.
A song that reminded you about a past love or a close friend.
A song so powerful, you stop what your doing and you start day dreaming about that moment in time.

I was listening to Kenny Chesney's 2004 song "I Go Back" and thinking about what songs take me back.

Every time I hear "What a Wonderful World" reminds about one of my first influences. "Uncle Rich" the nicest man I have ever met who passed away some years back. In a camp video made in 1992 showed his picture at the very end of the song. So when ever I heard that song I cried.

Every time I hear "Life is a Highway" I think about the first time I drove a car down the highway.

Every time I hear the song "Shimmer" by Fuel, I think about my childhood crush from High School becuase I thought we were worlds apart.

Every time I hear "Tonight, Tonight" By the Smashing Pumpkins I remember listening to a mix tape a friend made for me that introduced me to alternative and grunge music.

To get to my point, I want you to get on your music player and make a playlist of all the songs that take you back. The good memories and the bad ones. Why becuase you never want to forget about who you were and the moments that brought you to the present.

Change...Not nesssarley a Bad thing

There was a time when I dreaded running a mile. Today, I'm training for my fourth marathon.

There was a time when I thought Bevis and Butthead was evil incarnate. Today I laugh and enjoy shows like South Park and Family Guy .

There was a time when I listened to mostly Heavy Metal and Alternative. I then thought country was silly and made no sense. Today, I relate to songs sung by Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny Chesney as well as Smashing Pumpkins, Fuel, and Foo Fighters.

Personally I see alot of changes in myself, in my friends, my family and so on. All this change is scary. But not a bad thing. Some times a change can be hard but in the end it could be a good thing.
